Commerce7:
A global website built for the team behind it.

Problem

Commerce7 had recently finished a full rebrand, but its website was hard to maintain. Routine updates needed a developer, some interactions added complexity without improving the experience, and the site did not fully reflect the clarity and reliability of the platform itself.

Commerce7 wanted to keep the new brand while rebuilding the website around performance, accessibility, flexibility, and long-term ownership.

Background

Commerce7 is a direct-to-consumer commerce platform built for wineries, with customers across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and other wine regions.

That global audience adds complexity. Plans, pricing, currency, messaging, and product availability can vary by market, while the website still needs to feel consistent and remain easy for the Commerce7 team to manage.

Commerce7 asked several of its experienced agency and development partners how they would approach the rebuild. It weighed the proposals and chose 5forests to lead the project.

Solution

We build on Commerce7 every day, so we came to the website brief already knowing the product, the wineries, the partner ecosystem, and the technical constraints.

We rebuilt the site in WordPress on a custom block system, so the Commerce7 marketing team controls everyday content without losing performance or design consistency. We refined the existing brand rather than replacing it, simplifying the motion and removing visuals that did nothing for the product story. Regional content, pricing, navigation, and the key product experiences now work as one consistent system.

The result is a fast, accessible site that works across global markets and that the Commerce7 team manages itself.

Built around how Commerce7 actually works

The Commerce7 website has to serve very different visitors, from a winery evaluating the platform for the first time to an existing customer looking for an app, partner, event, or account login. We designed the rebuild around those real journeys while giving the Commerce7 team a simpler system to manage behind the scenes.

Localized by market

Visitors are directed to the appropriate regional experience, with the correct plans, pricing, and currency for their market. They can also change regions manually when needed. Regional content is delivered without sacrificing page caching or global performance.

Centralized pricing

Plans and pricing are managed from a single source in WordPress. Each market can have its own currency, pricing, and available tiers, while pricing pages and signup experiences stay synchronized automatically.

One consistent product experience

Account login, registration, password recovery, demo booking, and the Commerce7 App Store were styled to feel like part of the same experience as the marketing website. Moving between the website and Commerce7 product surfaces feels deliberate and consistent.

Clearer paths to action

Navigation and page structure were rebuilt around the actions visitors actually need to take: compare pricing, book a demo, find a partner, explore apps, or attend an event.

Accessible by design

The experience works across mobile devices, keyboards, and assistive technology. Motion respects reduced-motion preferences, and past events automatically transition toward useful next steps such as recordings or related content.

Built for the marketing team

Pages are assembled from flexible, reusable WordPress blocks instead of rigid templates or developer-only components. The Commerce7 team can build landing pages, update messaging, publish campaigns, and rearrange content without waiting on an agency for routine changes.

A stronger foundation

We reduced the number of moving parts required to run the site and built core functionality around predictable, maintainable systems. That makes everyday publishing safer, reduces the chance that one change affects something unrelated, and gives Commerce7 a platform that can evolve with the product rather than needing another rebuild when requirements change.

Fast around the world

The site was built to take advantage of aggressive caching and edge delivery while still supporting regional and personalized experiences. Visitors get a fast first load whether they are opening the site from California, Canada, Europe, or Australia.
