Other agencies might know ads. We know ads that sell wine.

Every winery we work with needs more bookings and more wine sold, and winery advertising is one way to get both. We understand compliance and platform policies. We’ve managed Meta and Google Ads campaigns for some of the most recognized wine brands. We tailor creative and copy to fit wine buyer psychology. We use industry benchmarks and analytics to track performance instead of guessing.

When does a winery need help with advertising?

Advertising is an easy place to lose money. A campaign can run for months on clicks and impressions without anyone knowing what it booked or sold, and wine ads carry rules that most products never have to deal with. These are the reasons wineries bring their advertising to us, and you may recognize more than one.

You’re spending on ads and can’t see what they sold

The platforms report clicks and a revenue figure, and neither matches what came through the till. We track every sale, booking and club signup back to the ad that drove it, so you know what your budget earned.

Your ads get clicks, and the clicks don’t book or buy

Traffic arrives and leaves. We match each ad to the page it sends people to, so the click lands on the tasting, the wine or the club offer the ad made.

Your tasting room has slots to fill

We run ads aimed at the people most likely to visit, timed to the bookings and events you need to fill, including last-minute tasting slots.

You have a release to sell, and your list isn’t enough

Your own customers will buy some of it. Ads put the release in front of new people who look and buy like your best customers.

Your ads keep getting rejected

Alcohol is a restricted category on every ad platform, with its own rules on who can see your ads, which countries they can run in, and what the ads can show. Some platforms have to approve a winery before it can advertise at all. We know the rules on each one and build your campaigns to pass them.

Where do we run winery ads?

We run your ads wherever your buyers are: Google Search, Shopping and Performance Max, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, Pinterest, TikTok, X and LinkedIn.

Your campaigns are crafted by real people who understand you, your goals, and your audience. We regularly monitor performance to achieve the best results, and we stay abreast of changes that will impact your advertising so that nothing sneaks up on you.

What does our winery advertising service include?

We don’t run cookie-cutter campaigns. Every campaign we create is built from the ground up, using your business goals and audience insights as our guide. We handle all of it, from strategy and creative through setup, tracking and reporting, on every platform you advertise on.

Advertising strategy

We start with your goals, whether it’s DTC sales, bookings, subscriptions, or all three. Then we build a strategy to match, tailored to your winery’s size, market position, and resources.

Audience targeting and segmentation

We identify and segment your audience based on demographics, interests, behaviors, and more, so your ads reach the people most likely to engage with your brand.

Keyword research and selection

Our team identifies high-intent keywords that reflect how your customers actually search. From varietals to regions to experiences, we make sure your ads show up when they search.

Ad copywriting and creative

We write ads that speak the language of wine buyers. Need visuals? We design ad creative that fits your brand voice, for search, display, video and social.

Campaign setup and management

We handle every step of setup, from account structure to conversion tracking. Once your campaigns are live, we monitor performance and adjust based on real-time data.

Landing page optimization

Clicks are only half the battle. We design and optimize landing pages that match your ad messaging and convert visitors into club signups, tastings, or sales.

Ad testing

We test ads, audiences and landing pages against each other, and put your budget behind the ones that sell.

Bid management and ROI optimization

We use bidding strategies that get the most out of your budget, putting it behind the keywords that deliver sales rather than traffic.

Conversion tracking setup

With our Google Tag Manager containers, tracking pixel installations, and server-side Conversions API setups like the Facebook Conversion Tracking for Commerce7 app, we make sure every sale is counted.

Compliance

We keep your campaigns within platform policies and alcohol advertising regulations, protecting your brand’s reputation.

Jargon-free reporting

Every dollar you spend should be accountable. We report what your ads sold and booked, in plain language, so you always know what’s working and what needs work.

How do we know what your ads really sold?

Most of what a winery sells never touches its website. It happens in the tasting room, over the phone, when someone joins the club. Standard ad tracking is blind to all of it, so Facebook reports that your ads earned a fraction of what they really did, and then spends your budget chasing the wrong people.

We built the Facebook Conversion Tracking app for Commerce7 with the developers at Treefrog Digital to close that gap. It sends every sale you make, online and off, straight from Commerce7 to Facebook: tasting room and phone orders, club signups and reservations. You see which ads actually put wine in boxes, and Facebook goes looking for your next best customers already knowing what one looks like.

Through our combination of know-how and can-do, 5forests routinely sees higher ROAS than any published “industry standard.”

Questions about winery advertising

Can wineries advertise on Google and Facebook?

Yes. Both allow wine ads, including ads that send people to your online store, as long as they reach only people of legal drinking age and run only in the countries each platform allows. Each platform sets its own rules, and we build your campaigns to meet them.

Do you make the ads, or just run them?

Both. We write the copy and design the images and video, then set up, run and report on the campaigns.

Do we need Commerce7?

No. We set up tracking on the platform you use. On Commerce7, the Facebook Conversion Tracking app also counts your tasting room and phone sales and club signups.
