Amista Vineyards:
A Commerce7 rescue for a Dry Creek Valley winery

Problem

Amista moved from WineDirect to Commerce7 in 2025, and the first website built for that move, by another agency, did not work for the team. The winery needed a site that showed what Amista is, made it simple to book a tasting, join a club and buy the wines, and that its own staff could look after.

Background

Amista Vineyards is a woman-led winery in Dry Creek Valley, Healdsburg, with organically farmed estate vineyards. It makes Rhône varieties and a range of sparkling wines by the méthode traditionnelle, and it welcomes guests to its tasting room for tastings and vineyard tours. Commerce7 asked us to step in and put the site right.

Solution

We rebuilt the site on WordPress and Commerce7 and launched it in August 2025. Tastings and tours lead straight to booking, the clubs sit side by side so members can compare them, and the shop, club sign-up and customer accounts all run through Commerce7. We built the site to be accessible, and we taught the Amista team the best practices they need to maintain it themselves.

Three Amista Vineyards pages: home, Visit Us and Our Story

If you want an exceptional website, we wholeheartedly recommend 5forests. Polly and Michael are hands-on, deeply knowledgeable about best practices, and bring a wealth of wine marketing expertise—plus, they’re genuinely fun to work with. When we needed to rebuild our website to integrate with Commerce7—following a failed attempt with another agency—Polly and Michael came to the rescue. They delivered a beautiful, functional, and accessible site in record time. What we especially appreciate is that they took the time to teach us best practices and empowered us to confidently maintain the site on our own.

Rebuilt, then handed back

Amista needed a site that worked and a team that could run it. We rebuilt the site on Commerce7, then taught the team to maintain it.

Rescue rebuild

Rebuilt the Amista website on Commerce7 after a first migration by another agency left the team unhappy.

Commerce7 integration

Connected the shop, club sign-up and customer accounts to Commerce7 so every order runs through one platform.

Visit booking

Turned tastings, tours and visit planning into clear pages that lead guests straight to a booking.

Wine club

Set the Amista clubs and FriendSHIP side by side so members can compare the options and join in one place.

Accessibility

Built the site to be accessible, so guests can browse, book and buy with any device or assistive technology.

Team training

Taught the Amista team best practices so they can maintain and update the site confidently on their own.
