Anaba Wines:
Full service marketing and websites for one of Sonoma’s most sustainable wineries.

Problem

In 2021 Anaba Wines had a new tasting room, guests were coming back after the pandemic, and its sales were moving from WineDirect to Commerce7. Anaba had seen our work for neighboring wineries and wanted one partner to manage the move and build a site that would sell wine and sign up club members.

Background

We started with strategy: a customer experience plan for how a guest moves from a first visit to a purchase and a club sign-up, then an inventory and review of every page, image and file on the old site, a sitemap and wireframes. We built a custom WordPress theme on Commerce7 for WordPress, coded Anaba’s property map into Commerce7 reservations for the tasting room, and tested the site in the major browsers and with people outside both teams before it launched in 2021.

Solution

We have hosted and cared for Anaba’s digital marketing ever since: Meta, Google and Yelp advertising, email, YouTube, local search and monthly site changes drawn from analytics and heatmaps. In 2023 we relaunched the site on a new theme.

5forests has been a valuable partner for Anaba Wines. Their expertise in website development and maintenance, particularly with Commerce7, has streamlined our online operations. They understand the wine industry, are ahead of industry trends, and effectively work with our team to provide tailored solutions that meet our specific requirements. We appreciate their responsive and proactive approach.

Part of the Anaba team since 2021

We work with Anaba’s inhouse team, not around them. Anaba leadership and 5forests meet every week, the campaign calendar is planned together, strategy and activation is workshopped regularly. What began as a website has grown, year by year, into a collaborative marketing at its best.

Strategy

Build an annual campaign calendar with the Anaba team and meet weekly with leadership on strategy and market insight.

Advertising

Concept, set up and optimize Meta, Google and Yelp campaigns, from always-on and seasonal ads to Google Shopping.

Email

Run Anaba’s email marketing end to end: campaign planning, copy, design and sends, plus the templates, automated journeys and list care behind them.

Growth-driven design

Use analytics, heatmaps and session recordings to find friction, then ship site changes and campaign landing pages.

SEO and local search

Monitor rankings, ran site audits and build local citations, and keep the Google Business Profile accurate and active.

Customer experience design

Define the path from first visit to purchase and club sign-up, judged on reach, convenience, personalization and channel choice.

Hosting and care

Host and maintain the site from launch, testing every major update on a staging copy first.
